Product Review: Elite Therapeutics Hair Care

Here is my hair story. A few months ago, I got a new haircut after having had the same hair for many years. It was a good change, but one that involved using a hair dryer, and a flat iron. As a result, my old shampoo and conditioner aren’t quite cutting it anymore. I find that my hair is getting quite dry. As a result, I don’t wash my hair everyday like I used to. I find that by skipping a day, my hair is not as dry and damaged looking as it might otherwise be.

So it seemed like great timing when a bottle of Elite Therapeutics shampoo and conditioner arrived in the mail for me to try. I will admit that I had not heard of this brand before, but I was definitely eager to try something that might be better suited to my new hair routine.

Elite Therapeutics is a company who was founded by a physician who was treating patients with cancer. He noticed the devastating effects of radiation therapy on his patients’ skin and hair, and decided to develop a line of products that would help patients with these particularly sensitive skincare needs.

The idea behind Elite Therapeutics is: “each product in our proven skin and body care line blends cutting-edge science and active naturals designed to nourish and nurture the skin at every level—from cellular to surface“. So we are not talking about random ingredients which give a shampoo a pretty look and smell. These are products which are designed with both science and nature at their core.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are sulfate-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free and safe for all skin types.

The Elite Therapeutics Shampoo contains:

Hydrolyzed Silk Protein, a natural protein which delivers both moisturizing and conditioning effects deep into the hair shaft.

Manuka Honey Extract, harvested from New Zealand and which serves to deliver anti-oxidant properties, and act as a natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory product to help protect hair from environmental damage.

Rice Bran Oil, containing tocotrienol, a highly potent form of vitamin E which acts an anti-oxidant and also helps to reverse the signs of aging on both the skin (scalp) and hair shaft.

Beta-Glucan, a long chain natural sugar which helps to fight against free radical damage, and ultraviolet radiation damage to the hair shaft.

The Elite Therapeutics Conditioner contains hydrolyzed silk protein, vitamin E extracts and other natural ingredients:

Mongogo Oil Extract, sourced from South Africa, and which helps to regenerate and hydrate your hair.

Babassu Seed Oil, which helps to hydrate and soothe the hair. It also has natural anti-bacterial properties.

I used the shampoo and conditioner over a course of about three weeks. I was very happy with the quality of these products. The shampoo had a nice light texture, and no discernible fragrance, which is a benefit to those with fragrance allergies or environmental sensitivities. The conditioner was also nice and light in texture, not too heavy at all. My hair was easy to comb out after it was towel dried, and it looked wonderful after being blow dried. These products are quite comparable to other salon-quality hair treatments that I have used in the past. I would highly recommend them, especially if you have skin sensitivities, environmental allergies or damaged hair. In addition, these products would be very well suited to people with damaged skin as a result of medical diseases (e.g., cancer) or prescription drugs.

You can purchase Elite Therapeutics shampoo and conditioner online or at selected retail locations in the United States.
